Thomas L. Reeves Elementary Raises $7,544 for American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge

Thousands of schools across the country participated in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge this year. Thomas L. Reeves Elementary School is proud to be included in that group of participating schools. Reeves Elem. students, families, faculty, and staff rallied together and raised over $7,500 to help save lives across the state of Mississippi. Over 170 students participated by giving a penny or greater, taking a heart healthy pledge, or being selected to be in the Kindness Club. Pictured in the group photo are Reeves Elem. students who participated in the KHC. Top heart heroes were selected to hold the number posters. As a ‘thank you,’ the AHA gave US Games certificates to the school to be used toward equipment. Cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke, is the leading cause of death of all Mississippians. We are proud that Reeves Elem. is helping to fight heart disease and save lives throughout our state.
